USS Stennis in San Diego
While having lunch at Bali Hai on San Diego’s Shelter Island, we were able to look across the water and see the USS Midway - now a museum - and also the USS Stennis. As we were getting ready to leave my wife noticed the Stennis was in motion and on its way out.
What does this have to do with Phoenix real estate? Not a damn thing. But it’s pretty cool.

Off For The Coast
Vacations tend to be few and far between in this business … this week’s one of the exceptions as the family heads to San Diego. Among the highlights will be a dreaded fun-filled trip to Legoland, lunch with Kris Berg (and Steve, too) and the Bawldguy.
While I’m away, I hope you’ll enjoy some of the posts coming off my RealTown blog … looking back, it was clear I barely had any idea what I was doing.

Friday Afternoon Theme Music: June 20
What’s that old time management theory, work like it’s the day before your vacation? You know, because you always seem to have a lot you want to clear off your plate before you leave?
It’s a little different circumstance in the real estate world where the timing often is less of your own doing. Yet we always seem busier right before vacation and this time around has been no exception with a scheduled closing next week and three homes going into escrow over the last 10 days.
Trust me … I’m not complaining. But if you need to find me tomorrow ahead of Sunday’s departure for San Diego, I’m most likely going to be at Costco making up for the shopping I didn’t get done this week.
First, we give you Terry Tate’s vacation … (and yes, I do own a Terry Tate bobblehead.)
And, for those who want the music, I’m going back to the archives for the Boat Drunks.
We’ll be posting some “best of” posts off the RealTown blog over the next few days. For those who didn’t know about the blog then, they’ll be a pleasant surprise. I think.

Happy Fathers’ Day
You know what? I’m taking the day off from posting. Instead, I’ll give you two versions of my dad’s favorite song.
Yeah, I know.
When I showed him this video two weeks ago he broke into verse in a bass voice I only can wish had been passed along to a second generation.
So for my Dad and all the others, enjoy.
I’ve always liked this version a little more … this one looks like it’s mixed in with the final performance from the Country Bear Jamboree (note to disney: Pooh’s Adventure sucks. Bring back the bears.)
