This is what happens when your son is a real estate agent who’s too cheap to spend money on a Hallmark card, much less an actual gift. Then again, what is the gift for a 41st anniversary? I’m guessing tapioca pudding but I really have no idea whatsoever.

I originally threatened my mother that I would open this post with “my name is Jonathan Dalton and I’m looking for my real parents.” Except, unless you know that I look just like my mom and sound increasingly like my father, you’ll never get the joke.

In any event, today is my parents’ 41st anniversary. Anyone can send their parents on a cruise on such on occasion but not everyone will take the time to find Michael Landon singing their song … which do you think takes more work?
