Local Schools Guide

AvatarAfter watching Kris Berg and her fun with ZeeMaps, the light bulb of inspiration I’ve been waiting for finally blinked to life. Adjusting the Homes for Sale page on the blog from a long list (duplicating the individual pages) to a map-style format was a no-brainer.

But the true inspiration came for the long-dormant schools guide on my main website. Once upon a time, when I was focusing on only a couple of neighborhoods, links to a handful of the local schools seemed sufficient. I quickly discovered that it really wasn’t anywhere close to sufficient, but I had not redesigned the site because I couldn’t come up with a design concept I like.

Enter the mashup.

Check the Schools Guide either from the blog or from the main website and you’ll find a page with links to district sites, boundary maps, school calendars and an interactive map of all the district schools. I’ve started off with the Peoria and Deer Valley Unified School Districts and eventually will move to the south and west to incorporate Dysart, Tolleson, Agua Fria, Pendergrast and Glendale.

If there’s other information about local schools you’d like to see, shoot me an e-mail or drop a comment and I’ll see what I can do.
