Realogy Adds Yahoo! to Stable of Online Listings Portals
![]()
Realogy, the parent company for Century 21, ERA and Coldwell Banker, today announced a marketing agreement that will place Realogy’s listings on the Yahoo! Real Estate site. That position previously had been held by Prudential.
With the move, Realogy adds Yahoo! to a stable of online listings portals that already includes Google base and Trulia.
The kicker, according to Transparent RE’s Pat Kitano? Online registration. Realogy will not require those searching for homes to register before seeing the listings.
For all the discussion of real estate 2.0 and transparency, this is one area where the public has made their opinion clear - they don’t want to register to receive the same information they could receive in a dozen different places. Forcing them to do so in the interest of a lead to be incubated, tends to alienate more than attract.
UPDATE: Thanks to Haley from Yahoo! Real Estate for this clarification. Prudential has not been replaced. Rather, Realogy simply is being added to the mix.
