Phoenix Prepares for the Flood
Posted on November 29th, 2007 by Jonathan Dalton
Okay, that’s pure hyperbole. You’ve got me. We’re now on a week of on-and-off overcast and tomorrow rain allegedly is coming.
From what I recall, this is the phenomenon where something wet falls from things called clouds. Aside from a little bit of a drizzle while showing homes in the East Valley a couple of weeks back, I’m not remembering the last time it rained.
Might it have been in October? September? These things tend to blur over time.
Forecasters are calling for a whopping one inch of rain but are giving us an 80% chance by tomorrow. Rain’s much needed, even if it involves sharing the freeway with people who can’t figure out why the roads suddenly are slick.

Funny you use the term drizzle to describe the rain. A few weeks back a radio personality that’s a Phoenix native was talking with a former New Yorker, when the New Yorker mentioned drizzle. The Phoenix guy had no clue what kind of rain drizzle was. For Phoenix natives, today it’s definitely a drizzle day.
