Dalton’s Arizona Homes Blog is Not one of the “Best Blogs in Real Estate”

Jonathan Dalton, Phoenix Real Estate AgentSome of you are nodding, others are wondering what I’m talking about (while nodding, most likely.) But I discovered this morning that my blog is not one of the “best blogs in real estate” because it’s not a featured blog on Realtor.Com.

And it’s not a featured blog because I didn’t sign up through Realtor.Com for a blog powered by Top Producer. I didn’t wake up one day and follow NAR’s commandment suggestion to begin a blog in 2007. I already was here, as were many of the writers who pen the actual “best blogs in real estate.”

Of course, I had to subscribe to the RSS feed just to see if any of these owners of the “best blogs in real estate” have the temerity to ask what’s going on behind the curtain while writing on a platform provided by Realtor.Com. Or to ask what happened to all the leads that the good salespeople at Realtor.Com tell you are waiting around the corner for the cost of a small home-equity loan.

  1. I can’t believe I just signed up for that RSS feed. Thanks.

I did find the “Featured” blog in Gilbert. First post was on May 8. Followed with 8 posts on July 23.

    And that’s it.

Nary a single link to be seen.

Here is my favorite post, verbatim:

“If you have information to share that does not fit into any of the other categories, you may place it here. Then
I can set up a new category and more the comments to the appropriate place.”

And this is, according to Realtor.com, the best real estate blog in Gilbert, AZ.

  2. The rest of the state doesn’t have any. Less than 30 total featured blogs and the one for Surprise loops back to the front page of this Let’s Talk section.

  3. Oh for goodness sake, what a car crash those blogs are. It’s laughable except for the claim that “these are the best real estate blogs available”.

    That’s amazingly offensive.

  4. […] Realtor.com now hosts/promotes some craptacular real estate blogs as the best in the business. The Real Estate Bloggers and Jonathan Dalton comment. […]

  5. […] is in much the same place, only with fewer blogs and a higher degree of sucking among the authors. Again, almost none of the authors have any idea […]
