My Active Rain blog was recently visited twice by someone from Best Agent Tools, a so-called marketing group whose greatest marketing effort seems to come from comment spam.

On the great evolutionary chain of marketers (a rather small chain in the minds of most of the general public), I believe the comment spammers must rate just ahead of the telemarketers, just below a single-cell amoebae. Of course, the amoebae always can hope (mostly to evolve.) But comment spammers are a singularly hopeless breed whose final thought before they fall asleep only can be, “Thank heavens I’m not the owner of a Splog.”

After all, everyone needs someone to look down upon.
