Every now and then, stray thoughts wander in the corners of my mind and I can’t seem to shake them. For instance, this one’s a Father’s Day story but it still will work.

Years ago, Mets announcer Ralph Kiner was broadcasting a game on Father’s Day. Kiner was known for his wide array of malaprops and he didn’t disappoint. “To all the fathers out there, Happy Birthday!” he said.

That’s been rattling around in my brain since yesterday. Just thought I’d share.
