3rd Consumer Oriented Carnival of Real Estate

avatar.jpgInterior night: a Connecticut real estate professional, pasty from too much time both in New England and in the region’s limited sun, places a frog head on an unsuspecting cat for the sake of a blog post …

Welcome to the twisted world of Athol Kay, author of The Real Estate Guide (a blog far too good for its Blogger platform) and this week’s host of the Consumer Oriented Carnival of Real Estate.

When not getting caught by the spam filter on my site, Athol mixes a rather unique blend of local and national real estate as well as items that can best be described as quirky. It could be the blood rushing to his head from his days Down Under, but his perspective makes his blog a one-of-a-kind read.

Enough about Athol … I’d hate for his head to swell … and on to this week’s winners.

“Help! I’ve Been Priced Out of the Market by Flippers, Low Interest Rates and Casey Serin” on the Salt Lake Real Estate Blog. Had to look up Casey Serin - he’s the author of “I am Facing Foreclosure.com.”

Dan Melson’s “When to Get a Buyers’ Agent and Start Looking.” I dunno. Maybe when your seriously ready to buy, at least for the latter half. On the first half, I’d argue that the right time’s when you first get the itch to look.

Jonathan Greene’s “The Tale of the Terrible F Bomb,” which doesn’t have an f-ing thing to do with what you’re f-ing thinking. (It’s late and I’m getting punchy. Work with me.) And props to Jonathan for choosing a better blogging mouse trip.

(Paging Athol Kay … make the switch, Mr. Kay.)

And Larry Cragun’s “I am not a Cat, I’m a Frog.” This apparently led to Athol’s photo choice.

There were other mentions but time is running short and I’ve got more single-property pages to add … playing catch up is a little rough when you’re taking a new listing every 10 days or less. (Signing the actual paperwork … the listing presentations are another story.)

Next week’s Carnival is back at Toby’s place and then it’s here. I was off by a week.
